Yep. That’s right folks, the crazy bastards behind the infamous Scootas vid are back by popular demand and are definitely out in full force in Scootas II. Kyle, Anthony and newcomer FCZack put together this gem of a video for your viewing pleasures… too good for words…
My Architect
July 24, 2007

I don’t know why I haven’t blogged about this film until now. I think I’ve had the intention of blogging it about 5 different times, but never have. I’ve been telling people to go watch this movie since the first time I watched it about two years ago with my dad. It’s an amazing film by the son of famous architect Louis I. Kahn, Nathanial Kahn. It’s a documentary about the son’s path to discover his father through visiting his architecture, but you really couldn’t write a story more compelling if you tried. It’s a beautiful film, so please go rent it, or download it, or whatever you have to do. The story is beyond compelling, and the cinematography and the way he captures the architecture will take your breath away, and might even bring a little tear to your eye. Learn more about the film here, and more about Louis Kahn right here.
Chromeo @ Sing Sing!
July 23, 2007
So last Friday was the 1st Anniversary of Sing Sing, at The War Room and it was quite the night ladies and gents! It got started off right with Pretty Titty & FOURCOLORZACK holding it down. Then on to Flosstradamus and finally ending with an amazing performance by Chromeo. They are so dreamy. Anyhow, it was quite the night if I may say so myself, and I haven’t danced that hard in a long time! Team Savory (with the lovely Shelbs and JR) were out and in full force, and we definitely managed to be completely on point and completely out of pocket all at the same time. We’re amazing like that. There were lots of shots, donkey punches, year 2000 playlists, KA’ing, and “if you aint got no money take your broke ass home” yelling spouts. It was outrageous, and a small sampling of pics can be seen here. More photos to be posted soon.
Scootas Revisited…
July 23, 2007
So most of you probably saw this youtube clip back when it was posted over at Publikhair.com. BUT, I laugh at it everytime I see it, so I thought I’d give it some more blog time– and I needed to shout out Anthony for providing the inspiration to blog tonight. You guys will definitely be the first ones invited to the NASCC…when and if they have one, haha. I’ll let you wrap your brains around that acronym on your own, haha. Anyways thanks Anthony & Kyle for the chuckles. You’re the best super homosexual friends a girl could have!
PIRATE UTOPIAS
June 13, 2007
Man do I wish I could be in London in July. Anyone want to take me? Jose Parlà and Futura will be unveiling new work at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms– what a ridiculous pairing. The show is called FUTURA & PARLA: PIRATE UTOPIAS. It’ll be running from July 6-28th with Tuesday-Saturday hours of 12-6pm, and 12-9 on Thursdays. If you’re going to be around, you can’t miss this. If you don’t know who these artists are, visit MIAMEDIARTS. and do your homework.
Momentum
May 26, 2007
New spot from Nike dropped starring Pau Gasol, Rafael Nadal and Ronaldinho called Momentum. It’s done by Barcelona based Villarrosàs and even though it’s not a W+K spot like most Nike stuff we see– it’s oddly reminiscent of the Freestyle commercials. Thoughts?
It is kind of cool how it’s sort of got that underground Fight Club-esque feel to it though.
Rob & Big
May 25, 2007
Love these guys, and here’s one more reason why…
At some point I hope to see these fools in real life, how funny would that be?
Lip Gloss
May 25, 2007
Where can I get me some of that Lip Gloss?! Lil Mama’s bout to drop a cosmetics line– I’m calling it. This vid is hilarious to me, I don’t even know what to make of it. But I guess it’s better to have a 17 year old rap about her lip gloss than the wide spectrum of other shit she could be rapping about? Enjoy the vid if you haven’t already seen it;
And if you still want more, here’s a better look at the little lady;
Unicorn
May 23, 2007

No, this is not just a red bull can with a unicorn photoshopped on it, it’s for reals. My girl Salty C found this gem of an energy drink while google searching “Unicorn.” Now, I know what you’re thinking; “Can I drink this if I’m vegetarian?!” and don’t you fret! It’s completely sans animal biproducts, in addition to being kosher, approved by the Muslim Judicial Council of Malaysia and without wheat, gluten or dairy. This shit is the real deal. In fact, I think it needs to become the official drink of Team Savory– and French Dap is gonna work on getting us sponsored for a morgue.org tour… watch out. As soon as I get my hands on this stuff, you can catch me getting high on life.

Virtually Hanging Out
May 22, 2007
Last night a bunch of homies– that could’ve easily hung out in real life, decided to hang out via the internets. It was good times. Here’s a picture of us videochatting about taking pictures, while some of us took pictures of us taking pictures of us videochatting… uhh…. yea, I don’t know…

Cash Cab
May 21, 2007
This show is stellar. It airs on the Discovery Channel– which is just killing it lately with their show line-up. I could’ve easily blogged about; Mythbusters, Man vs. Wild, Planet Earth, Future Weapons, Going Tribal or Dirty Jobs. SO good. Cash Cab is so entertaining. It’s the perfect combo of trivia (which I love) and randomness (which I also love). Check out this clip to get an idea;
I really hope that bit about french women not getting fat is true.
3-2-1….
May 2, 2007
CONTACT! Loved this show, and now I love it even more! Check out this fantastic clip! Thanks to A Daily Dose of Architecture… golden.
BREAKING NEWS!
May 1, 2007
….is SUCH an overplayed term in the media. It really gets on my nerves. I remember when that special music and the flashy “Breaking News” graphics used to mean an ACTUAL serious emergency or event. Now it’s just to tell us the paternity of Anna Nicole’s baby, or that our President wants to hold another worthless news conference so he can lie to us some more about the war in Iraq. Have you ever noticed that there’s Breaking News about 20 times a day? Doesn’t that just make it regular news?! These fear tactics are getting really old. I think this overabundance of Breaking News actually desensitizes us. I used to be really scared as a kid, when the Breaking News would come on & now I barely even pay attention. I think it’d be really interesting to watch the news for a full 24 hour period and count how much of that time there’s a “Breaking News” banner flashing on the bottom of the screen. How obnoxious.

Fixed Gears on NYTimes.com
April 29, 2007

Saw this article in the NYTimes.com today and learned a lot about the history of fixed gears. If I didn’t take a nasty fall and get stitches in 5th grade, and if I didn’t live in an area completely surrounded by hills I might try to give a fixed gear a try– but I’m too much of a pansy and a lightweight. I must say it’s quite the expensive hobby– seems like every other week I’m hearing what new components my brother is buying for his bike that equal 2+ months of my income. But I guess it’s still way cheaper than a car, and much more eco friendly. Maybe when I live somewhere a little more flat I’ll try to work my way into it.
Check out the article here.
